Walking into Colder Weather

It's becoming so cold here in MN that I wore long underwear on my way to class yesterday. I also, managed to bring in my bike and got it down into our basement for storage during the next freezing months. C is still out riding her bike from time to time, but I refuse once it gets to be cold and windy. I'd rather walk the 30 min hike to class please.
Later today I'm meeting with my advisor to plan my study abroad trip to France next fall. I'm applying for a school in the south of France by the ocean. Can't wait! My program starts mid-august (2009) and doesn't get done until December 20, 2009. It'll be a fun adventure! I'm planning to graduate that next spring (2010), so hopefully I can fit all my classes in. The next job, however, is to find a nursing school to apply for! Let me know if you have any ideas please!

School, What Else?

The following article is from the New York Times: Baby, You're Home
We've been reading about this very material in my history class (Women, Health, and History) and saw the video, The Business of Being Born. It's all really interesting and shows how women are starting to give birth in hospitals more than a very long time ago. In 2005, 1/3 of women were having c-sections, which pulls women away from the natural birthing experience. The video is about home births and how midwifery is really the better choice in comparison with the hospital, however many physicians will disagree.

On a different note, I've been thinking about adding a minor along with my French Studies major and my nursing pre-requisites. The minor will be Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance. (One minor, but a long title). Also, finals are coming up soon, which is not fun, but I'm just excited for this semester to be over with. Only three more weeks!
