School, What Else?

The following article is from the New York Times: Baby, You're Home
We've been reading about this very material in my history class (Women, Health, and History) and saw the video, The Business of Being Born. It's all really interesting and shows how women are starting to give birth in hospitals more than a very long time ago. In 2005, 1/3 of women were having c-sections, which pulls women away from the natural birthing experience. The video is about home births and how midwifery is really the better choice in comparison with the hospital, however many physicians will disagree.

On a different note, I've been thinking about adding a minor along with my French Studies major and my nursing pre-requisites. The minor will be Sociology of Law, Criminology, and Deviance. (One minor, but a long title). Also, finals are coming up soon, which is not fun, but I'm just excited for this semester to be over with. Only three more weeks!

Only three weeks. That sure went fast. So guess you'll be really busy for the next few weeks.

Only three weeks? I think it's four...or I guess, three and then finals' week. I'll see you during that week - can't wait!!!!

Yeah, well it's actually four weeks, but since we don't have classes during Thanksgiving, I only have 5 classes left and I only meet twice per week... can't wait for it to be over!

Since when do you have a blog? I read a book recently on midwifery and how it's the preferred choice, as well. I've gotta say, when the time comes for me to need those medical services, I'm going to want a hospital and lots of painkillers!

How are you sweetie?
